How about 'Open Mind'? Check out their song 'Magic Potion'.

The later incarnation of the Animals had some pretty heavy stuff, but I'm sure you're probably aware of them.

King Crimson's debut? '21st Century Schizoid Man' in particular.

'Buzzsaw' by the Turtles is heavy in a different sort of way.

- not my cup of tea, but Vanilla Fudge

Thanks for the remindernot really into Vanilla Fudge....seems to me they build up to a point where they SHOULD start rockIn out but always fade out at that point instead.

I agree, Vanilla Fudge had a propensity towards long drawn out dirges and cover songs, but occasionally they would cut some hard rocking shorter songs like Street Walking Woman and Need Love.

Need Love

Be back later to add to the thread. :cheers2

^^^ I think that was their only hit Vadar. They broke up at the end of the 60's.

That's cool, I'm not really a hits guy anyway. I'm more into albums.Exactly what I'm looking for...late 60s hard rockers.

Spooky Tooth is one I have heard of before but never got around to checking into. I the know that the bassist for Humble Pie was originally in ST. Will be looking into them...great tune. Frijid and SLB are both great bands of the early 70s that I'm already aware of. Looking more for late 60s stuff but not ungrateful for your efforts :grinthumb
