^^^When I eventually get that Rega, I'll be looking at getting more new vinyl LG. I still keep buying the odd SH album to put in with my old collection. I am liking the amount of brand new vinyl I see popping up in the record shops I visit though, that can only be a good sign.

Yeah the new album's fantastic, seems many didn't care for "Rapture of the Deep" too much, I liked it though it was better then the "Banana"s release anyway. Still between the three of them "Now What?"s far greater in comparison.

Ritchie's behaviour definitely was very unprofessional there, we all know though that Gillan was forced to be back in Deep Purple and both of them weren't happy to share the same stage. Still though, Ritchie in the early 90s must have been a total jerk.

On a positive note, I love the live version of The Battle Rages On from the same concert.

I've forgotten what started the feud between Ian and Ritchie...:hm:

After Perfect Strangers tour, Blackmore insisted to have rehearsals without Gillan being around, that was before The House Of Blue Light. He was then fired after the tour (I believe) and got Joe Lynn Turner to do Slaves & Masters. It was very melodic, the way Ritchie wanted to do at first place.

^^So he fired Gillan after the tour ended and hired Turner to take his place...didn't know the details but it explains why even now Ian won't bother talking to Ritchie. But Ritchie has always been a prickly sort according to everyone that's worked with him, not sure about his own band with his wife but perhaps because he's completely in control there aren't any problems and he can just enjoy himself without any conflicts.

I think Ritchie now is doing what he was searching for for years. Although he still plays Purple tracks, he is not keen in joining the band ever again.

From what I read recently the only member of Purple he stayed in contact with was Jon Lord, for some reason Ritchie got along with him and they socialized regularly.
