Kiss, Deep Purple, Yes, and Peter Gabriel are among the nominees for the 2014 class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Other classic rock hopefuls include Linda Ronstadt, Cat Stevens, Hall and Oates, and the Zombies.

The list also includes the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Nirvana, Chic, N.W.A, Link Wray, the Replacements, L.L. Cool J, and the Meters. According to Rolling Stone, the artists who get the most votes will be inducted at a New York City ceremony next April. For the second time, fans can select who they think should be honored via a poll on the magazine’s site — that’s the good news. The bad news is that all those combined votes will be combined into one ballot that becomes just one of 600 ballots that will determine the winner.

This seems like a good time to blow our own horn and state that if you want a Hall of Fame that puts 100% of the control in the hands of the fans, click here or on the button below to help decide in Ultimate Classic Rock’s current Hall of Fame election, as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Rod Stewart and Santana vie to reach the finals.

Of course, several of these undoubtedly worthy classic rock bands have been nominated but not inducted for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in years past. Not that they seem particularly concerned. Earlier this year, Deep Purple keyboardist Don Airey stated, “I don’t think the band really care, actually.” Last year, Gene Simmons of Kiss floated the idea of buying the Hall of Fame, and firing everybody: “It’s become a joke.”

I hope all 3 would make it....I wouldn't lose sleep over it if they didn't, but I would like to see KISS get in if even just to see Peter and Ace up there with them again...hopefully

About damn time.

so, who wants to take bets on whether or not ANY of these first four artists get in?

in otherwords, 10 million people could vote on the website and yet it still only counts as ONE vote in the final tally? Why bother? This is simply being done so that the major douchebag Jann Weiner can say that the fans have some say in the whole process.

:wank:

Happy if Yes and Deep Purple make it in particularly.

Electric Light Orchestra are among the giants from 1972-1986, forever forgotten by anyone who actually matters, ELO won't ever be enshrined in this joke Jann Wenner calls a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Jeff Lynne might make it solo as producer under their Non-Performer category, but I could never accept that!

Went for Deep Purple, Yes and The Zombies. Can't be asked to vote for KISS.

Went with the following..

Deep Purple.
The Zombies.
Cat Stevens.
Hall & Oates.
N.W.A. (Say what you will but as far as hip-hop/rap's concerned they along with Grandmaster Flash and Public Enemy deserve it).

Well with how long it took them to finally put Little Walter in and even give Albert King a nomination last year not holding my breath on this but still hoping that Blue Cheer, Rory Gallagher, and Thin Lizzy get in at some point. As far as Purple and The Zombies go it's about time.
