Great list,Poppa!Just maybe I would have listed GINGER Baker instead of Phil Collins. Then again,it's always difficult to narrow these "10" lists down to just that number.I also very much admire YOUR admiration for figures such as Buddy Rich and particularly Gene Krupa who were major inspirations for future rockers.Krupa as we all well know here was largely responsible for the incomparable jazzy styles of Keith Moon and John Bonham....

I have just too many Drummers to list, especially considering the fact that I'm a Drummer myself.:grinthumbA lot of my direct style in the beginning started with a true sense of solid Hard Rock and fast, pounding Metal. I also began to quickly add the sounds/flavors of Jazz and other intricate sweet, climactic lifts. Damn, it nearly sounds like I'm talking about Sex here...lol! Well, I guess that the power of both an interesting, flavorful Drumming arsenal and Sex can end up being quite refreshing in the end. Gotta love it!:D

Getting back on track, I guess that I'll just list a few of the great Drummers that are influences on my Drumming style that I can think of right now. Trimming it down to 10 is insane though!:pullhair:

1. Sean Kinney - ALICE IN CHAINS.

2. Carter Beauford - DAVE MATTHEWS BAND.

3. Kevin Miller - FUEL.

4. Phil Collins - GENESIS/SOLO.

5. John Stanier - HELMET.

6. Nick Menza - MEGADETH.

7. Tommy Lee - MOTLEY CRUE.

8. Ralph Molina - NEIL YOUNG/CRAZY HORSE.

9. Dave Grohl - NIRVANA/FOO FIGHTERS.

10. Neil Peart - RUSH.

I only listed the above list as what band(s) they play(ed) in in Alphabetical Order. It is not a direct list of who's the best or worst in the Top 10 list, ya know? I'm satisfied with that list for now.:****:

This thread doesn't exist unless you put Morgan Rose on it:

I was gonna put him in too. He was/is a huge Metal influence on my Drumming and I think that he's a pretty cool guy too. I've seen Sevendust live quite a few times and have always felt energized and impressed during the show. Sevendust is a VERY, VERY UNDERRATED band and Morgan Rose is one of the best Metal Drummers out there today.

By the way, why not switch things up from the highly underrated Morgan Rose to perhaps the MOST OVERRATED Drummer ever, John Bonham? Similar things could also be said about Keith Moon but I think we should give Keith Moon a lot more credit for his worth than that. I'm offended to always hear so much praise for John Bonham when even Kurt Cobain said that Dave Grohl was a better Drummer and even if he could magically come back to life, he'd still choose Dave Grohl. That's truly in an interview with Kurt Cobain by the way, not me. Check it out sometime.:grinthumb
