Which Guitar Brand do you use most and/or would call your favorite? You can talk about your favorite Brand(s) & discuss others along with it, but the main point is to vote & focus on your favorite Guitar overall. Keep on rockin' there fellas!:grinthumb

In case anyone didn't already know or realize, I meant to put B.C. Rich up as the top one. Just a slight misspelling error.

I owned an S.G. and wouldn't say that there's any Gibson or other Guitar that's better. Just ask Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page & multiple others. They're all well known for playing S.G.s throughout their career, especially Tony Iommi. I don't think that he's ever played another Guitar since he's been in Black Sabbath. Not to say that that's the only Guitar that I'd wanna own. Obviously I'd love a few other Gibsons, a 24 fret Jackson & a 22 fret Double Humbucker Fender Tele. I'm mainly a Drummer though. That's why I traded in my S.G. & several amps including an awesome Half-Stack. I love sticking with Drums, but I'll never forget how great that S.G. sounded. There's nothing better for a Guitarist if you ever get the chance to pick (even a used) one up.:cheers2

Not only the sound but the feel of a Gibson (especially SGs and Explorers) is perfect for my hands. The only semi professional quality electric guitar I ever owned was a Hohner Strat copy but strats have never felt all that comfortable in my hands. Danelectros and Silvertones on the other hand....

The main guitar (really instrument) I play these days is a Classical Cockamamie (Takamine or whatever) and I like this one pretty good. I can also play whisper quiet and that comes in handy with two small kids in the house.

Years ago I was poised to buy a 72 SG from a guy who specialized in them. It played really sweet and he only wanted $550 for it. I could kick myself for not snatching it up because I was single at the time so it would have been a guilt free purchase.

Not a fan of Gibsons. They are iconic in the music industry, but to me they always felt big, bulky and overweight... especially Les Pauls. I also don't like the traditional Les Paul look with that ugly pick guard. The LPs without the pick guard look a LOT better, but still, always feel bulky to me. In the seemingly eternal matchup between Fender vs Gibson, I'll take a Fender 10 times out of 10, but that isn't the question here.

My favorite guitars have LONG been Charvels (or Jacksons, which is very similar) and BC Rich. Interestingly enough, the only two guitars I still own are a Charvel and a BC Rich. :D Not sure how to pick one over the other.

Honorable mention to ESP (or their knockoff LTD's) and Ibanez

Man, that's too bad. Have you ever tried Epiphones? I mean, Gibsons are the best, but I think Epiphone versions are lower priced & better quality than a lot of other Guitars at that price, ya know? Oh well. Save up for another Gibson.:cheers2

I didn't mention Les Pauls anywhere above though. In fact, I believe more than just about anyone that Les Pauls are some of (if not the) most overrated Gibson(s) around. It sounds like you don't really like them & that's fine by me as I'm not much into them, yet there's no doubt that they still are quality Guitars. They just aren't my favorite Gibson though.

Considering all of that, S.G.s are the real deal, sound better (in my opinion) than any other Guitar & feel quite smooth & comfortable in every way. At the very least, I believe that they're the best overall Gibson. I loved the way my S.G. felt whenever I used it. It's body felt more comfortable than perhaps any Guitar I've ever used. It was so naturally comfortable & had an even, slim, hard rockin' feel throughout. The fretboard is also very smooth & beautiful with such a natural, gentle, yet also incredibly strong feel. Those curves look & work/feel great too. With the fretboard & curves matching up perfectly like that, there's absolutely no "distractions" or bent, blocked feel to it anywhere. A Strat doesn't even compare in my opinion. That's cool if you still like them, but I still highly would prefer a Tele any day of the week. Beyond that, a Strat has a "rubbery" feel when placed up against the smooth feel of the S.G. that I can't say enough great words about. The S.G. just beats most (if not all) Guitars in so many ways. I can understand how you feel about the Les Pauls as I never was one to dream about getting a Les Paul way back then. I always had the S.G. on my mind, not just for looks, but for sound. After trying it a few more times as I got older (and especially after I finally picked mine up) I felt like it sounded better after each "ride." I love the Drums & will stay committed for the most part to Drumming, yet I'll never forget how beautiful, instrumental, massive, chilling, colorful & electric my Gibson S.G. sounded. Talking about my S.G. yet again here brings me back to that sound that was pure, rockin' magic.:****:

In terms of basses Fender Precision would be my second choice. Because Rickennbacker is not mentioned on the list I'm gonna have to pass on voting. Probably I'd vote for Gibson (SG models), Ibanez however has the worst guitar and bass tone in the universe, hence why I can't stand the sound of new metal these days.
