I think maybe these two bands are missing from the list. "Bloodrock" and "Vinegar Joe"...BTW
, 3WK Underground Classic Rock internet radio plays many obscure classic rock bands

I think that list is missing 1000's of groups!

Thanks for mentioning a couple more GREATS

...although Bloodrock were pretty popular. Now good ol' Vinegar Joe...NOW YER TALKIN'!

I'm not sure about Bloodrock Starman, they were not popular up here, so I think they could make your list from my perspective.

I have never heard of Vinegar Joe before...:dunno:

Oh back in the day, at least in Detroit, they were HUGE. I think they had 5-7 albums. D.O.A. was a radio hit here off their second album and was played on W4, WABX and WRIF lots when it came out.

BTW, Lee Pickens, who is on that list, was in Bloodrock prior to forming the LPG

Vinegar Joe contained one cat that would go on to be really successful. Some of the others became very notable too.

Remember Robert Palmer's "Doctor, Doctor, Gimme The News, I Got Bad Case of Lovin' You"?

I REALLY apologize to anyone thinking I meant that any band didn't belong on that list. Thats not what I meant. That's why I said their were 1000s that could be.

Obscure to me just means "very low profile and little musical output" and some of the bands off that copy and pasted list were VERY popular and had many albums. So it's not intended to be an "exclussive" thing. Just something to spark curiousity and enthusiasm for collectors.

No problem, seeing I live out west in the GWN, I found Bloodrock by sheer accident a couple of months ago. I haven't had a chance to play the debut more than twice, but I like what I've heard so far.

This is your idea/thread, whatever you decide is kosher is fine with me...your knowledge and the others is far deeper than mine in this area.

I like that Robert Palmer song, probably my favorite of his work.:)

Detroit, did you say Detroit? Well then why don't you have both the Frost and Max Frost & the Troopers on your list? Both those bands could kick out the jams and kick your ass at the same time - especially for leaving them off the list!

Good one!

:grinthumb

Boy, what a REAL Guitar Hero Wagner is!!! When you listen to Aerosmith's Train Kept a Rollin' (what a history that tune has!) guitar solo in the studio injected "live" section on the "Get Your Wings" album, that's our man Dick jammin' his ass off. Of course many of Alice Coopers stuff features the recorded guitar work of Dick.

MR. Wagner is such a nice man. He still jams out locally once in a while.

Thank you SO MUCH for mentioning one of the most unknown, yet deserving legends in all of rock and roll.
