Does what a band wears/looks like matter?

I think if the material is good enough, what the look like doesnt matter. That being said, some musicians rely on aesthetics, like lady gaga dressing provocatively or the yeah yeah yeahs playing a full concert, nude in the rain. It might be called art, but its about how you look. Some bands just arent cool but make great music (like the eagles) and then there are really awesome-looking groups that suck (Seether, Hinder) I think rock stars exist to be cool, because sometimes we need that in our lives. Or not, just my opinion.

Ya know even the bands with no image, really do have one. Take a closer look and see if you can go to your job looking like most of them.

I think EVERYONE takes that last look at themselves in the mirror before hitting the stage. :grinthumb

Looks are everything. It doesn't matter if you can sing, or play an instrument or write your own music... if you look good, you will sell 20Million records.

Duh.. everyone knows this.

That's sarcasm....right!?

I believe it matters more to teenage girls. That's why boy-bands and heartthrobs, have to be clean shaven and have no body hair, as that can 'scare' young girls away. I think it matters more to women in general, if I'm brutally honest.

Image means a lot. I think this band would have been much more popular if they didn't look like they walked off the set of a Capitol One commercial.

I don't believe so. There persona could surpass their attire. If a rocker played like Hendrix and the personality of Tommy Lee, yet dressed like a bank manager. They would still reach success.
