Soot and Stars
I AM SOOT!
The Lumineers
One of my favorite groups lately has been a folkish pop band named the Lumineers! In the same vein of hooky folkish pop as Of Monsters and Men who had to be influenced by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes this group has a single that's become big and makes you want to shout "Hey!" or rather "Hey **"! It's a nice little gem that gets embedded into your head and a great compromise of laid back folk that can hook a wide audience!
Hey **
The self titled debut album out is:
The rest of the album is audience friendly as well but still has an intimate feel and a little hippy flair. I think the following is a pretty good showcase of the band!
Full Performance (Live on KEXP)
As for my personal favorites:
Flowers In Her Hair, Stubborn Love & Dead Sea
Check them out!
