That's cool. I can get with offbeat singers myself but something about that guy's tone (Corgan is up there too but manages to pull it off enough where I can listen to Pumpkins stuff) that I can't get passed. But I guess that's why they have trillions of flavors of ice cream. One man's garbage is another's grail.

Definitely and I actually get a kick out of why. Even being a fan of the group I got a chuckle out of the description you gave for Duritz's vocal.' :heheh: I would probably have as colorful a description for the Celine Dions and Macy Grays of what I've heard musically. :grinthumb

Well I have to say I only listened to Pink Floyd's The Final Cut once. It's kind of a continuation to the Wall, but worse.

No doubt. The Final Cut blows chunks. It's like a really bad Roger Waters solo album.

I can't understand anyone hating on Never Say Die that much though. I remember it being so reviled in my neighborhood I never got a chance to really listen to it until the late 80s. Yes, that was in the days when you couldn't just youtube something to get a sample of it.

I get that there are a few sleepers on the album but songs like Shockwave, Junior's Eyes and Over to You make it a fine album to me. Maybe weak for a Sabbath album (and I think this is the source of the hate) but cool by any other standard. In fact, I think it is a huge step up from Technical Ecxtasy but that isn't very hard to do either.

Unfortunately this new Madonna album may rank with the worst of mine soon. It's just awful and I only felt obligated to purchase it otherwise I wouldn't have. :uh:

:heheh:

But yes, I disliked it.

From LPs collection there is one album I still have, but didn't like (I know LG's opinion on this one):

Dr. Hook - A Little Bit More

Most of the parts I felt like :wtf: and  and got me to the point I won't play it again, 'cause I can't be bothered to go though all of that for 40 minutes.

I found Technical sounded a lot better in production then Never Say Die. I don't really hate the album but as a Sabbath album and as a general album for me I was let down by bad production sound. It has its moments like Junior's Eyes and Over To You but that doesn't sway my opinion on the album. To each their own. Some like it, I don't.

I am not surprised at all, in fact I was amazed you picked that record up in the first place. Dr. Hook used to be a "novelty/eccentric" kind of band, if you ever listen to their greatest hits(the early years) you'll get what I mean.

On "A Little Bit More" they went on a different path, sure there are a couple of quintessential Hook songs, but the majority of the album is just a laid back soft rock style. I still Love their cover of "Only Sixteen", that is the song I heard that got me to buy this one. Plus it has plenty of nostalgia for me too, I was much younger than you when I bought my copy.:D
