Partly I do regret for not going to see them live in Oxford last year. It would happen 3 days after Uriah Heep at the same venue (o2 academy), however spending so much money already on the gigs, including me playing one and all that journey to London and back costed me quite a lot. The next chance to see them live is in May together with Judas Priest, but the price for a ticket is £42.25, which pulls it out of my list of things to get.

I really want to see them live now... .__.

I'd rather sell my LP collection more than selling my bass, after my dead body! :heheh:

Oh, that one I'm still using for different tunings, in fact I will need that on Wednesday on stage.

Now just finished Solid Balls Of Rock, tomorrow I shall continue Saxon marathon. Even Destiny and Rock The Nations weren't that bad to play. :grinthumb

Got my tickets for the Priest / Saxon show at Hammersmith in May, gonna be epic.

The tickets for the London Saxon show I saw in December were £20ish Nolo... For over 2 hours of pure Saxon. So worth the money. They'll be back headlining soon enough, don't miss them again!

Well... yes. Hopefully they will be touring in UK again, but I don't want to go to a festival just to see them live.

Anyway, I finished going through their entire discography. Some of the albums from 00s period surprised me quite a lot. I mean the sound of heavy metal they played was exactly the same to what current metal kids listen to (melodic solos, heavy riffs and breakdowns), yet no one knows Saxon. It's a shame, however I got hooked my friend on Killing Ground song, which is a good sign that this is what my other metal friends will like. Out of all good recent albums, The Inner Sanctum was the best.

Saxon are almost never given a good spot at UK Festivals, certainly at Download and Sonisphere anyway. They did all Wheels of Steel at Download in 2010, with two extra tracks after it, but no way long enough and I would love to know how Cinderella and even Billy Idol should be above them on the bill.

In my opinion, you won't see many better bands for £20, it's a ****ing steal.

Personally I feel the later albums Saxon put out are their best, they are the ones I listen to the most.

Inner Sanctum was top shelf and as I have said in this thread before I think Saxon has surpassed both Priest and Maiden when it comes to their last new albums.

Truly a travesty they are not given the respect they deserve...all I can do is continue to enjoy their music and let people know how I feel.

Saxon is probably the only band that keeps the feel of NWOBHM going.

One thing that caught my attention is Biff's song-writing. Some of them are repetitive, but very simple and catchy.

I started to dig Rock Is Our Life recently. Reminds me a lot of Accept's 'Teutonic Terror' for some reason.
