Personally I was really looking forward to a Roger Daltrey/Pagey collabo but unfortunately it never panned out. :(

Can't say I even knew there was talk of one; but I have to say, it's pretty lame it never amounted to anything.

Would you think there would be much chance of Page going the "classic rock supergroup" route, given the recent successes of Chickenfoot and Black Country Communion, or would one think the critical pannings that The Firm and Coverdale-Page (Moreso the former, though) got would've left a sour taste in his mouth in terms of the whole supergroup thing?

I can't say anything for sure but I believe it was announced on his site he would be touring this coming year! Haven't heard anything of any plans for collaborations or supergroups or anything of that nature anytime soon but I do wonder if he tours what the setup will be. Since Robert Plant isn't game for anything it's a definite possibility he could team up with someone else and I really wish he'd give Jonesy a chance to do a little work with him. They really left him out in the cold when they (Plant/Page) toured together. I remember some smartass remark Plant made about Jonesy being downstairs getting their bags during an interview.

You have to feel sorry for Jones, he always seems to get screwed over one way or another (Be it that Live Aid keyboards thing or the Page & Plant snub you mentioned). I'm guessing I'll probably ruffle some feathers here, but I feel he's just too good for TCV; I think I vaguely remember reading something on some forum years ago about some collaboration project that was in the pipeline with Carl Palmer. Most probably just a rumour, but it still sounds pretty cool, regardless!

Interesting to note that Page will be touring soon-ish though (As you said, it'll be interesting to see how the setup will be), maybe this means that he'll finally deliver on that solo album that was promised mid-2010!

JPJ is the seasoned musician of the band and I wholeheartedly believe he truly enjoys what he does and doesn't want the notoriety, though I know it got under his skin the little jabs they made and their neglect towards him post-Zeppelin. When they were accepting their induction to the RRHoF he made a little joke about the guys remembering his phone number. :heheh: I always appreciated JPJ for the musician he is and his willingness to stand in the shadows and do his thing. It must have been hard to live in the shadow of the other three they were quite the famewhores and wild ones. :D

This is interesting! First of all, what the heck is "sludge metal"? Second, has anyone on here even heard of Crowbar? Third, what the hell did those Zeppelin fans on YouTube say that was so bad as to make the poster take down comments and go on a tirade? :heheh:

Anywho, here's a cover of No Quarter by "Crowbar" for you MetalHeads. :grinthumb

I'm going to get eaten by the Metalheads for even pretending to be capable of describing Metal genres but I believe sludge metal is just how it sounds. A slow kind of brooding pace with sludgy heavy riffs. Anyway, I think the reason the comments had to be taken off was likely because they had the gall to put better than the original right on the vid. That's bound to piss people off! :heheh:
