The 80's was the decade where guitarists started standing out. This is a hard choice but hands down: Mr. George Lynch from Dokken.

i saw his rockpalast performance it was great. my 2 favorite songs by him are vodoo child (jimi hendrix cover) and my 1st fav by him is tin pan alley.

I saw him twice. The first time in Miami on the Soul to Soul tour with The Fabulous Thunderbirds opening. I got right up against the stage and got his low E string that he broke (sadly misplaced years ago).
I saw him again about a year later with the Outlaws as an opening act. Both shows were very good. I feel fortunate to have seen him.

I love his insturmentals especially Testify and Scuttlebuttin'.

Has to be Stuart Adamson from Big Country for me. A truly brilliant band and so original. No band sounds like them - they are truly unique.

Someone (maybe on this site) mentioned that Big Country was loudest, most crystyal clear sounding band they've ever seen live.

You've sparked my interest porrohman. I must delve into their catalog.
