runningshoes, that's too hard for me to narrow down. Too many bands with really good stuff. I'm generally a "like most of them" kinda' girl. If I come up with a fav, I'll let you know. Does most everyone here have an absolute favorite? I guess I'll find out along the way!

Personally, I find Allmusic too negative. I gave up on them years ago.

A word of warning

Everyone here is stark raving bonkers!!!

They do weird things like talk about music and put coloured crayons up peoples noses! They do multiplications using a camels toe's to do the math!
One walks their pig on the ceiling!
Some just can't talk in legible sentences and then go on massive single sentence rants about the strange etiquette of others while they drill holes in their walls to put their candles so they can light the candles before they go to bed incase of a powercut or impending nuclear war becomes reality and the entire world dissolves into an explosion of bubbles creating a cosmic imbalance of bubbles vs matter, of which the latter slowly loses and crushes unto black holes sucking each bubble into its greedy mouth filling the Nydus worm on the other side full of succulent bubble goodness that just melts in its mouth creating a euphoria of tastes on its tongues! After which it channels its great Chi into the resulting battlesphere of love and ultimately misfiring the Chi which hits David Beckhams cologne!!!

And that is how the universe was created.

runningshoes, if I had to name a band, or a few, I would have to say JT, Carly Simon, Carole King, you get the idea. And I've gone back to listen to more of the work of some of the others from my "era"...Fogelburg, Gerry Rafferty, Richard Marx. And introduced to me recently...Strangeways, Jeff Scott Soto, Giant, Train. And there are those favorite tunes from growing up by all the great bands - too many to name - The Who, Skynyrd, Journey, Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, and YES, Queen! ... and so on. Newer bands/performers I'm enjoying include Snow Patrol and Sheryl Crow (well, she's not new, but relatively new to me!)

I listen to softer music all day at work...you can probably tell that by my list! See, I did say I couldn't narrow it down. Nope, there is no one band I've followed religiously since "the beginning", but JT and the two ladies are right up there. And Josh Groban (no, don't boo! me)
