Smoke on the Water should've at least been in the top 10, if not top 5. Everyone on this planet has probably heard that one!

Im quite pleased that The Trooper is included on that list. Easily one of my favorite Maiden songs.

Agreed. I'm overjoyed to see "20th Century Boy" make the list though. That song has a stellar boogie to it. :grinthumb

With Smoke on the Water, I feel that it's popularity may be inflated due to it appearing in all the right films and being covered by all the right people.

As far as Deep Purple riffs go, I actually prefer Woman From Tokyo, although that may just be me.

Satisfaction surprises me at the top as well, I would have thought that Jumping Jack Flash (although it is basically Satisfaction in reverse) would be the more iconic and overall the better riff from the Rolling Stones camp.

Oh I think Deep Purple has pleanty of riffs that I like more ("Burn", "Speed King", "Space Truckin'", etc) but the fact of the matter is that "Smoke On the Water" is very likely the most well known riff ever.

"Satisfaction" doesn't quite surprise me as #1 but I think "Iron Man" is the riff to end all riffs and should have topped it. :D
