As we get ready to hit 2011, Classic Rock gets out its crystal ball to make a few predictions. Don’t blame us if none of these happen, but here goes:

1. Van Halen come over to the UK and play at a major festival.
2. Mike Portnoy returns to Dream Theater, although not before they release an album with a different drummer.
3. Saint Jude, Virginmarys and Touchstone head a British global rock assault, as we once again lead the world.
4. Ritchie Blackmore decides to put Rainbow back on the road, with Joe Lynn Turner as vocalist.
5. There’s talk of Slash and Axl settling their differences, but no reunion of the classic Guns N’ Roses line-up
6. Sales of rock and metal albums go up, as other genres continue to suffer.
7. Slade get back together one last time, and do a farewell show.
8. Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield get together for a one-off studio project.
9. The Rolling Stones announce their 50th anniversary tour.
10. Jimmy Page finally returns to action with a solo album. Or at least thinks about doing one.

^^^ It's happening quite a bit around the world.....though at this point it's steady enough to make this fan happy as all get out.

The last 10-15 years have been wonderful for metal in general. :cheers2

Metal sales, and we're not just talking all the Nu USA metal, has been on the rise and steady for a long time. Mainly because alot of it has been quality, good music and nothing more. That shouldn't change anyone's mind to becoming any sort of metal fan nor does it take away any sales from any other genre.

The Grammies still ignore metal for the most part so the non metal portion of the nation is doing ok. :cheers2

This doesn't shock me at all. Kind of a no brainer prediction.

8. Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield get together for a one-off studio project.

This would be cool~

That moment where Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer and Metallica all played on stage at once was a brilliant metal moment.

Yes it was and they played Diamond Head's "Am I Evil". Pretty awesome! A massive stage full of the big 4 :D
