Well, I just got back from his concert, I didn't get what I expected, His voice has gottten so bad over the years that you cannot even understand a word he says. He changed the lyrics and melody of certain songs. He also didn't interact with the crowd at all, when the concert ended he didn't even say bye or anything to the crowd. He just walked straight off stage and left everyone wondering if the concert ended or not. I expected better :(

Sorry to here that Archon! Maybe it was just an off night but to many just saying you saw Dylan is good enough in it's own right. I'm not a Dylan fan personally but I know their are plenty of Dylan fans here that would be jealous that you got to see him at all! :grinthumb

Yeah, I liked that I got to see a classic rock legend, 4th row center, I was really close. I felt like it could have been better though.

I wish that I could tell you that it was just an off night...but it wasn't. All of his shows have been exactly like that for the last 20-odd years. I don't think he's actually interacted with the crowd, aside from a select few incidents, since 1964, and his voice has been dead since the 80's.

I always feel bad for people who go to a Dylan show not knowing what to expect. He has such a rich catalog, and his live shows just don't live up to it.

I'm sorry you were disappointed, that's really a bummer.

That's a shame you didn't enjoy the show Archon. I have heard Dylan on YouTube/boots a lot,and have to say that his voice this past 5 - 10 years has got pretty rough.

Death On Credit, to say that Bob Dylans voice has been dead since the 1980's, well that is just rubbish.

I wish that were so. There were times in the 80's when his voice would literally go out (as in, he would try to sing and NOTHING would come out). His voice was probably at it's absolute worst in the late 80's/early 90's. He's managed to pull through and give great performances since then, but his voice was still pretty much gone.

In my opinion, the Rolling Thunder Revue was the last time that his vocals were really up to par.

Too bad..I hear this alot...but he does have good music and like Soot said...hey at least you got to go see him and it was pretty close up there. It's the experience of it all even if the performance didn't allow you the perfect night out.

:cheers2

Surprisingly, Subterranean Homesick Blues is one of his least played songs. He's only done it 120 times, most of which were in 1988.

On the Times, have you heard his White House performance of the song? It's one of his live moments in decades...

I wish that he could deliver like this every night.

Perhaps it's time for the never ending tour to end.
Archon, at least you can say that you seen the greatest song writer the world has ever produced(by a mile, nobody even comes close). In a hundred years time they will still be talking about Bob Dylan.
