This band have released quite a few albums and are still touring, messers Bert Jansch and John Renbourn sure do play a mean set of guitars. I saw the original line up a few years ago and they were outstanding some great harmonies from Jacqui McShee who can still sing like a lark in the morning.

Albums

The Pentangle (1968)
Sweet Child (1968)
Basket of Light (1969)
Cruel Sister (1970 GB)

Open the Door (1985)
In the Round (1986)

Re: The Pentangle

My favourite Folk outfit ever, John Renbourn is my number one acoustic cat. I would liked to have caught that gig old lad.

Re: The Pentangle

It was immense, so tight, nobody dare say a word till the end of each song, middle of Harrogate, shame these bands are reduced to doing out of the way places, better than all these rubbish acts that get to play Wembley when they can barely play with themselves never-mind an instrument!!!!

Re: The Pentangle

They're very good and very underrated - but isn't that always the case? :heheh:

Jansch is criminally underrated.

Re: The Pentangle

After Sox enlightened me about Pentangle I now have 6 of their albums. I love the folk rock hybrids from the old days, everything was so wide open including creating your own genre of music.:D
