It says in the title, they include the really good band names as well :grinthumb

Good list though, gave me a laugh more than anything :heheh:

Following on Sooty's point of almost never listening to a band because the name implyed Death Metal, for me, it was the same with the Eagles of Death Metal.

When I first heard them, I sort of missed the in-joke of them being the "wimpy" version of death metal. :heheh: So I had them labelled as an actual death metal band.

But I've grown to like them. Still a stupid name though, does the band more harm than good.

Gym Class Heroes
Dashboard Confessional
Good Charlotte
311
Blink 182

Anything along these lines.

Never really liked the band name Def Leppard either. Spell the damn name right (though I admit Motley Crue sounds infinitely better than Motley Crew).

Then again, I was on the verge of forming/joining a local group called Nytemair, so I shouldn't be talking trash.

I always thought The The was pretty stupid.
Pavement is another one I can't stand.

I get the feeling that you dislike those bands music more than you dislike their names, Plus dashboard confessional is a pretty good name if you ask me

This ridiculous symbol for a particular musician was pretty stupid:

prince_symbol.jpg

Don't mind his music, but what a stupid thing to go around calling yourself for years.

As much as I am not a Prince fan and never will be there is a background to that whole business that explained things rather succinctly Feldy.

He was "embroiled" in a contractual struggle with his record label, I won't go into the details but suffice it to say when he couldn't escape his obligations he changed his name from "Prince"...to that symbol. After he finished out the terms of his contract, he came out and told everyone that was the reason he did the whole Symbol thing, not because he was going crazy...:heheh:

Still don't like his music but I did gain some respect for him after all the details about the whole thing came out.

I wouldn't like the names regardless of what kind of music they played. But if you want me to list band names I hate for bands I like, then I could add:

-UB40
-SR-71
-Danger Danger (a headache to find in search engines or online auctions)
-Yes

Was never fond of the names Faster Pussycat or Accept either.

Kurt Cobain came very close to naming Nirvana Poo Poo Box. That could have been the worst.

There is a DC punk band called Babies Rabies.
Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit was in a band called Big Dumb Face
