Do you listen to music that is in a different language than what you speak? If so, who do you listen to? Why do you like their music?


I enjoy listening to Sigur Ros, which is music from Iceland. The lyrics are not English they are Icelandic or Nordic, and are quite odd sometimes, but the music is very peaceful. My favorite album is Takk, which means thanks in Icelandic.

I LOOK more than listen (Those Takamine acoustics are slick ). But really, I do like this song. It's catchy.

For the most part just metal. A lot of those bands I wouldn't understand those lyrics no matter what language they sing. Rammstein is probably the only one with clean vocals. Reisse, Reisse is a frickin' incredible album.

I listen to a lot of music in French, especially from the 1960s. Brigitte Bardot, Françoise Hardy, Claudine Longet, France Gall, etc. However I also fancy husband/wife duo Les Rita Mitsouko, who were most popular in the late 70s/mid-80s (though I discovered them strictly through their collaboration with Sparks). It's a language I fancy mostly due to my heritage.

Rammstien are an obvious one.....GERMANY has some terrific gothic/industrial bands !
One of my favourite bands at the moment is HANZEL UND GRETYL..They rock!!! Using Kraftwerk samples to very heavy guitars............
Saw them over a year ago playing local here in the UK ,the attendance was very poor..but they were great entertainers.....the guitarist even went to the bar ,came back with a trayful of free beers for us!! incredible
Going to see them in Germany this summer they are playing the prestigeous MERA LUNA festival...in front of thousands!!
