Compile a 'Best of . . . ' for your favourite band

I apologize for the size of that picture. I'm a rube with beer on a Friday. However, the size of that picture is dwarfed by the ridiculousness of the
tribute.

My faves by the New York Dolls (chronological)
The first two albums are cutting edge and there was no blueprint. The guys were winging it from the heart which resulted with a hit and miss factor but I can still listen to these beginning to end. There is a reason I have a David Johansen backpatch on my concert jacket.

The second iteration of the NY Dolls was basically David Jo and Sylvain with musicians from of the same ilk but very seasoned. The first album is really good and I recommend it and the last two are not without merit but I suggest for fans only.

Self titled first album (1973)
Personality Crisis
Looking For A Kiss
Vietnamese Baby
Trash

Too Much Too Soon (1974)
Babylon
Stranded In The Jungle
Who Are The Mystery Girls
Puss N Boots

One Day It Will Please Us To Remember Even This (2007)
Runnin' Around
Plenty Of Music
Gotta Get Away from Tommy

'Cause I Sez So (2009)
'Cause I Sez So
This Is Ridiculous

Dancing Backward In High Heels (2011)

Fool For You Baby
Talk To Me Baby

Thanks for rescuing this thread!

Tickets for The Outlaws went on sale yesterday.
I can't go as I already have tix with my son that night for the Indiana Pacers visiting our Cleveland Cavaliers.

This show is at one of my favorite venues that was rescued from demolition and doing very well, thank you.
I'll be there for Greg Hawkes in October.

Robins Theatre is just a few blocks from the Dave Grohl tribute who is from Warren, Ohio. The tribute is ridiculous! It is in an alley and is some graffiti and two telephone poles fashioned into drumsticks.

You won't be missing anything by not attending a concert with the current Outlaws lineup. Essentially, it's nothing more than a cover band. Sadly, when Hughie Thomasson died, so did the band. And Henry Paul should stop touring with a group of road musicians because he somehow managed to acquire the band's name. This would be as bad as going to a Creedence Clearwater Revisited concert (sans John Fogerty). But that's my opinion.

I've seen several shows with minimal or no original members. I accept it for what it is and some are better than others. Foghat with only drummer Roger Earl is a really good evening of rock but Canned Heat with only Fito on drums is not as good. Molly Hatchet was fun, April Wine was only so so. Martin Barre plating Jethro Tull is awesome but Skunk Baxter doing Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers is horrible.

These type shows do not represent the majority of my concerts...yet I say this with tix bought for The Grass Roots featuring zero original members!

My last big-name concert was '06 or '08. I just don't go anymore. I do attend shows at some of the local clubs here in Saskatoon, however, including cover bands. It's not the money. I just lost interest.

I started keeping a list of shows since the reopening of live events after Covid in 2021. It's been almost five years to the day and I've seen 52 concerts. I'm lucky, I live in an area with many venues hosting shows and I'm at a point in my life where I have a little disposable income. That said...my car is not new and I do not own a boat!
