I never was a Stooges fan, but I never cared for punk though they were more proto punk I suppose.
To me their records were messy sounding and the songs were just ok....but lots of raw energy and I can see how some got into that. They generally got good reviews from the critics on the early lps....not sure if they sold well , but I didn't know anyone into their music at college from 69-75 but a lot of us were into Led Zep and Sabbath at that time.

I'm definitely a Sabbath fan. Do you know any other bands like the Stooges, with that raw energy? Some would say MC5 but I want some lesser known bands. Thank you.
