"The wait is over! "Night Terror" is out now and it’s the first glimpse into Parasomnia, a special new chapter for us as bandmates and as brothers. We’re excited for you to experience it on February 7, 2025. Pre-orders start tomorrow (11th October)!"

The magic is back :cheers2

It's taking a beating over on DTF. Too much rehashing of old songs and ideas.
I saw that! Same-o Same-o yadda yadda.

I am on my first listen. I like what I am hearing but I need to hear Night Terror a couple more times to give my full thoughts.

It would be nice to possibly wait for more from Parasomnia to see which direction DT is going. As a general rule, I cannot assess an album on the first single release.

I actually won't listen to it again until the album comes out just for that reason, other than listening to some of the European shows.

Agreed. I have made the mistake in the past of forming a negative or positive reaction to a first single. Then when I get my hands on the album, I already have a preconceived mindset which affects how I feel about the album.

The other thing is that I don't want to listen to it 100 times and then I find myself skipping it when the album comes out. I want "the album experience".

Yeah, I also hear old songs/phrasing, etc, but they've been doing that for ages. For me, the drumming is back. Mike Portnoy's drumming is next level IMO.
Next level...from Mangini??

Here's what MP has over MM... it's a playalongability. You can air drum MP's parts, and you really can't do that with MM. MP's drumming is a bit predictable, and I don't mean that to sound the way it does. What I mean is that you can feel where it's going.
