Nice find, I hadn't heard of Samurai! The only Japanese proto-metal band I can think of off the top of my head is Speed, Glue & Shinki. I'll have to keep thinking about it, I'm sure I know others, but just not sure when they put out albums.

Combing thru relevant records, discovered this, only on cassette though.
Just love this with a JM Jarre flourish.

(The Sadistic Mika Band are one to suss out, a Harvest fave)

...Formed from fragments of Jerusalem Smith and Purple Haze...these were essentially a studio band that supported Slade on a 1969 tour,this 1971 album bombed....but is attracting collectors these days and is available on CD..

I missed this one back in the day.......apparently not much was known and though BRitish it was released in German first I believe.
