KLAATU - '3:47 E.S.T.'
Now this is quite a famous album in its own little way...
Released in 1976 it was touted by rock journalists as being The Beatles reformed and incognito, which it quite clearly wasn't.
I really can't see that. Although some of the orchestration and harmonies might sound a little Beatles-esque, the vocals don't sound anything like the nasal twang of the Fab Four.
What you do get for your money is some nice pop/prog tunes from a Canadian band which I very much like and play regularly.
The version that I have these days is a beautiful vinyl (still in its shrink-wrap) bought on holiday in Amsterdam back in September 2018.
Oh, and music aficionados will recognise the opening track, 'Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft' as being a smash hit for The Carpenters back in the day; well, this is the original version whence they nicked it.

I shall be playing the follow-up album next...

KLAATU - 'Hope'
No mystery surrounds the second album - the cat was already out of the bag by then!
I still love it though!

I bought a vastly expanded IRISH TOUR '74 recordings from Polydor records about 5 years ago from the former HMV shop in the west end of central London that has about 6 cds one of which I think is a DVD of the Irish Tour 1974 film that came out on it's own as a DVD about 10-12 years ago with all the discs included in a large box although to this day I still haven't played any of the cds manly due to myself listening to other stuff all the time. Back around 1993-94 Rory shortly before his untimely death in 1995 released his G-MAN bootleg series of cds and a couple of the bootleg cds were of the Irish Tour 1974 and were rather nice looking picture fronted cds.
