Holy shit! :omg::bow:
I mean I like Tom Petty to but what could I add to this? Seriously, what's left? :heheh: Amazing job man!
Yes! I agree. eberg15101 did a fantastic job!

I think Tom Petty would be proud.

I found this wonderful band in the seventh grade. As cliche as it is, Free Falling was the first song that sparked my interest. It was a guilty pleasure for the time, and I was kicking my own butt for liking it because I was very deep into my school's punk scene... After hearing Free Falling, I bought Full Moon Fever, little did I realize that Petty had much more to offer than just this brilliant album. By eighth grade my mind began to open a bit more, and same with the rest of my circle of friends, one of them actually made me a copy of their Wildflowers CD... I still had no idea what I would be getting myself into two years later.... the rest of eighth grade passed, I was still just playing FMF and WF thinking that was the extent of the Tom Petty catalog... ninth grade came around, I downloaded the greatest hits and American Girl hit me... because of some of my activities that year my memory is not so clear as to some of the events, and was certainly not clear at the time, I completely forgot about how much I liked just the greatest hits album.... Well, the summer of ninth going into tenth grade rolled around, I heard Listen To Her Heart, I'd never, ever, ever felt a song give me that feeling before....I hope you all know this intense mental eargasm.....:heheh:.... I had started the beginning to my still forming record collection.... I bought Damn The Torpedoes........ MY F***ING GOD!!!!... this was the beginning of what would become a brilliant musical journey....:lmao:

Dramatic enough for you, basically it took me a while, but I now own Tom Petty's discography digitally, 3 albums on vinyl, and 3 on CD... and I will have all of the albums hard copies as soon as I get to the record store:heheh:
Great story, eberg15101. I enjoyed reading this part the most. That's awesome.

I love Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, one of my all time favorites. Petty and the boys are right up there with Allmans, Stones, Floyd and other great rock bands. Petty has been putting out great music and albums now for 35-40 years now. (Yikes!) Tom Petty is a living rock legend.

I'll be back to this thread. Still haven't check it all out yet, plus I'll add some thoughts on TP.

Man, I love this song...

Angel Dream (No.2)

I dreamed you
I saw your face
Caught my lifeline
When drifting through space
I saw an angel
I saw my faith
I can only thank God it was not too late

Over mountains
I floated away
'Cross an ocean
I dreamed her name
I followed an angel
Down through the gates
I can only thank God it was not too late

Sing a little song
Loneliness
Sing one to make me smile
Another round for everyone
I'm here for a little while

Now I'm walking
This street on my own
But she's with me
Everywhere I go
Yeah, I found an angel
I found my place
I can only thank God it was not too late
I can only thank God it was not too late
I can only thank God it was not too late

My compliments on your personal "Tom Petty Magnum Opus" EB...:grinthumb

I have to say I am not a big fan of his though, I have his debut and Damn The Torpedoes and a greatest hits compilation, and that covers TP for my needs.

Groovy -- I know, its really a beautiful song and I love it, it's good to sleep to, good to wake up to, good to listen to when I'm depressed and good when I'm happy, it's so simple, but well written, and not even in a classic Petty sense... the whole thing with Petty evolving again:D
LG - I bet you'd like Long After Dark, and Mudcrutch as well.. MC is definitely more southern influence, I bet you'll like it, I just have a feeling;)
I hope you'll check out his new album once it comes out too, like I said in my post, it's supposedly going to be somewhat of a combination of MC, classic Petty, solo Petty, and bluesy/jammy type of deal....
RS -- you can do better than that, you have to check out all of his stuff, at least one album for everyone:D

Nice find GM:grinthumb

they sounded solid there, but looked a mess, Tom with those Sideburns and Mike looked really strung out, they sounded really great though, and those guitars sounded great especially for a show that big:heheh:

I guess Tom and the boys had a late night before, and weren't used to be awake so early, playing in the sunlight. :heheh: Life on the road, backstage parties after the concert, livin' the rock star life!

Hey, eberg? off topic question - is this thread kinda slow loading or is it just me? For some strange reason the thread is kinda feels slugish. Maybe due to all the videos?
