The initial 12 Frank Zappa releases included in the ZAPPA/UNIVERSAL deal set for July 31 are as follows. **Date signifies original year of release.

6. Uncle Meat (1969)
7. Hot Rats (1969)

11. Fillmore East, June 1971 (1971)
12. Just Another Band From L.A. (1972)

I think this is awesome news.. I already have on vinyl a few from the list but in support of the Zappa family I'll be picking up some of these great albums.. er.. Cd's I guess.. I wish I could get the original pressing of those listed..

Great that his family takes back control of his legacy...better than some faceless corporation being in charge.

I can't wait to get Absolutely Free and Hot Rats (as well as the others). :D

Don't think I've ever heard 'Freak Out'. That is a sin considering I've liked Zappa since the mid 70s. I need to hear that one.

Just hope it´s not the same old 95 versions, with a new label ! :uh:

According to Zappa.com many of the original analog masters have been re-mastered for this occasion so it's very unlikely that they're gonna re-release the 95 editions.

They should reissue them all on Vinyl as well as CD. And don't mess with the original tapes, just take care and do a professional job then press them on 180 gram audiophile vinyl.:tup:
