Yoke Shire is basically the work of two multi-instrumental brothers, Craig and Brian Herlihy from Massachutess. Masque Of Shadows was thier debut album from 1999 is an ambient oriented, complex arrange of multi instruments, great production, and deep, dark unique vocals.
Heavy and folk prog influenced but really this is a defination of crossover prog incorporating many styles of music, even a bit of the late '70's AOR. Very smooth, no awkward or cheese moments, and not so serious prog lyrics.
The three piece trilogy, "Maiden Voyage", "The Brook, The Mirror And The Maiden", and "Return Voyage" is the epic song from the album and one will hear all the different styles, elements, and atmospheres contained throughout the whole album.
