I didn't realize XTC had a large entry in Wikipedia cos the only song that I knew was Making Plans For Nigel which was a 'hit' for them here in the UK back in 1979 and obviously received a lot radio air play back then.

That was the first song I heard by them on the radio ....from Drums and Wires (1979.)

I had a friend who really knew music (he passed away almost 20 years ago)...he turned me on to English Settlement...5th lp ..a dbl lp from 1982. I became a huge fan and they are still one of my all time favorites. All their lps are good but English Settlement, Skylarking, and Oranges and Lemons are simply incredible pop/art rock. Should be in every serious music collection imho.
