What happened to the "like" option?

I did remember seeing it when I joined the forums and then it disappeared.. I was actually convinced that I was just imagining that there was a like option thingy

But see, that's what they do to all the new people. They put a new feature on the forum, and then take it away really quick just to drive you crazy. It's part of the initiation process. They did the same thing to me but they used a 'dis-like' option instead.

Forum aliens abducted the "like/Share" buttons. After careful probing and hours of advanced analytical reasoning, the aliens decided the buttons had no merit or value.

Unrelated, though I was wondering if this was based on research found in schools that rewarding students had negetative impacts on other students. Just thought there maybe some connection?

To be honest I was never a big fan of having a like button on forums for my own reasons. If I really like a reply someone said and agree I will reply to it directly.
