I loaded up on all the Jimi remasters back when it was a good time to do so -1993/alt cover (alan douglas) and this was one of them. Blues is still a pretty hard treasure disc
to find and I still consider these particular remasters to be the best in audio fidelity of the
bunch; First Rays of the New Rising Sun was released around this time, awesome stuff.

I actually p/u the CD about a year ago for next to nothing. Used CD's are going very cheap as vinyl is going thru the roof here where I live. Some of the prices are stunning. I'll look into 'FRNRS'.

This was what the producers envisioned as Jimi's wish for what came to be his Cry of Love album. First New Rays... is about as complete as it is going to get. Like The Beach Boys Smile, it was a nice revelation some 20 years later.

album I didn't like, this one's a gem from the
always fabulous ECM label.
