Avenged Sevenfold is a band I'm just getting to know. Someone told me their first albums were more screaming death metal, which isn't my thing, but the stuff I've been listening to isn't in that mould. In fact, for a band that started out that way, I'm finding the albums (post vocal chord meltdown?) to be very inventive; in each tune, I find myself wondering how it will develop.

How about this one:

Love the use of saxophone in this - almost like something from ska, kind of reminds me of The Specials "Ghost Town" or something.
My opinion: great vocalist, guitar parts that have had considerable thought go into them, well-constructed songs, plenty of variation. Think they're going to become a favourite.

Hollywood Vampires is new to me, but I guess I have to go and find some more with them, because it sounds really good so far

Don't think there is anything else out there by them yet (just the one album). Interesting band line-up though. Johnny Depp on rhythm guitar...who knew?!. Wonder what else I've missed in the last ten years, lol.

N.B. It's mostly covers of classic rock tracks.

Had to pick up the LP. All the analogue equipment the band uses I needed to hear it in analogue. A real pleasure.
