Ooh, ooh, I saw Phil's post-Lizzy band play a little old pub in East London before he sadly passed away! (Royal Standard in Walthamstow, for anyone that knows that part of The Smoke). Grand Slam, were they called? Boy, that man was larger than life in a seedy little place like that (plastic beer glasses kind of dive, but it suited the lyrics Phil was apt to write!). I even remember the guitarist had a yellow Renault t-shirt on, poor thing, lol.

Last time I saw Phil Play was when Robbo was still in the band - must've been around the time of 'Live and Dangerous' and bloody fantastic they were. I had seen them on every tour up to that time including the very first tour they did with that line up which was supporting BTO in 1974. I just went and bought the 'Solo in Soho' album by the way. Thanks for reminding me about it E-Z

Shadow Gallery - Tyranny(1998): prog metal/prog rock. A x-over of Dream Theater and Queensryche with a tinge of the melodic structures and production of mid/late '70's Kansas and Styx.
