Joni, with a live album that began her ascension to The Chanteuse of Cool.
With an already great slew of albums behind her, she was already the real
thing. Talented beyond belief, hip as hell without trying, loved by the musical
community and fans alike, she took the next step into a style all her own, and
with the jazz greats--incl Mingus, Jaco and a host of others talents. MOA is
still a folk treasure, but with the LA Express, which she had used on her last
studio album, to embellish and ramp up her song structures. I'm not huge
on Tom Scott but his wares were a perfect blend to Joni's folk, esp live.

Compared to Hejira, Don Juan's Reckless Daughter and her second live
album Shadows and Light, all masterpieces of modern folk poetry,
this one was less complex, but its sweet simplicity is what made
it such a favorable spin.

Linda Ronstadt Universal Amphitheatre LA Nov 3, 1976, great show, great band
and a great recording... top of her game on this tour, the grittiest rock band
of her later tours. The cover of Lowell George's Willin' is priceless.

One of the great rock and roll albums of 1970.

But, anyone who has a heart
Wouldn't want to turn around and break it
And anyone who ever played the part
He wouldn't want to turn around and fake it
