We use words like blustery, gusts, gales, winds, storms, hurricanes (sometimes).

A gale is a strong wind around 70-80mph, which is what we are getting at the moment, particularly in the south - and I am near the sea. It seems worse than 80 to me.

I don't know if you are religious, but Gale and Gail are traditional Biblical names. Abigail was the wife of King David and is described as intelligent and beautiful!

^^ Ever see Snow Sleet and Ice in South Carolina its not handled very well. Excuse for everyone to not work

You know we are kind of fixated on weather where I live, it's not an obsession but if you are unprepared here the weather will kill you.

Everything here is designed for extended snow and cold spells, but I feel sympathy for everyone down east and the southern states who are not geared for the terrible storms and cold they are experiencing.

It's actually nice today and tomorrow will be about -6 Celsius. BBQ weather if I felt like clearing all the snow off the back deck.

Goodness, talk about extremes. Today we got up to 93 degrees. Had the heater on last night and the AC on this afternoon.
