I screwed up when I mentioned Steve Morse in the same breath as
TransAtlantic. Neal Morse played guitar for that band, a progressive
supergroup of members from Flower Kings, Spocks Beard, Marillion
and Dream Theatre. The Dixie Dregs were pretty big around these
parts back in the late 70's and I actually spoke with SM a time or two.
He was probably early 20's and a great guitar player.

You're right about TransAtlantic. Also a great band, but completely different type of music. I'm a huge fan of anything that Dream Theater does, so naturally I have some, if not all of their albums.
However, not such a fan of Neal Morse and Spock's Beard. Steve Morse is a much better musician imo. Would love to meet him. At a Deep Purple concert in 1995, I had the pleasure of watching him perform close up and really enjoyed the show.
