^^I did say "Near" mindless, but it's common for almost all devotees to Apple to toss out their perfectly good model when the next new flavor comes out, and that is by intent.
I love my gadgets too, but this PC is over 6+ years old now and still works, although it's slowing down a bit.
When I buy something I want quality and want it to last as well. I see the genius in Apple's marketing wizardry, but don't like their business model or proprietary engineering either.
I respect Steven Jobs intelligence and vision, but he was one mean SOB to work with or for. He used people like wood chips when they had expended their fuel he tossed them on the garbage heap. I think Apple will have another 2-3 years at the top of the pyramid and then inexorably begin the slide to mediocrity, without Jobs they cannot possibly duplicate the success of the last few years.
