That mix is pretty wild! I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. The instruments feel a little too disconnected from each other, if that makes sense. Still really interesting to hear it that way. Reminds me a little of the maligned first CD mix of Double Nickels on the Dime by the Minutemen. In many ways, I prefer that mix, but it's definitely a more modern take whereas the original sounds a bit squished together without the roomy-ness separating the instruments or the reverb-tinged vocals.

...thanks mobius....that was a 2019 remix- recently acquired a CD with not so popular songs by the Beatles that have been re-'tweaked'.
You're right, that mix sounds like they came in separately and did their thing and left. Some Stones albums a while back got the same treatment, masters cleared- then add one by one from the desk, each instrument, some that were originally buried. Clever that in Glass Onion they used the recorder when citing Fool On The Hill.
loved your song... [ i learn a little each day on here.]
Ian.

....gonna have to check diaries and the racks for stuff I bought 50 years ago....I was 16!!
This album I definitely remember buying for £3.49p in Bradley's Store in 1975.
This (and many more) have moved countries, seen countless turntables, births, deaths, breakups and my original is still going strong!
someone a little more savvy could create a '75~'25 thread?
With the storms recently, I'm so busy on repairing folks tiles/fences slates and shingles....(but the cash is needed!)
Anyhoo- i tend to ignore this CD deluxe double album of Straight Shooter: as i favour the vinyl...but this harmonica version is sweet.

.....just thumbing thru a few purchases from 1975( annoyling, Paul Simon, "Still Crazy After All These Years" actual album is not present in the sleeve!)
But this is a treasure and on the original beige Bronze label.Mick Rogers was a tour de force around this time.[actually loaned this from my local Library]....then purchased it at the Co-Op of all places.
Nightingale And Bombers is thoroughly on the cusp of progrockpop!
This far betters *Loose Windscreens * version...as do most covers.
