Paul Kantner and others had issues with Marty Balin in Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship so Balin was asked to leave the group. 15 or so years later, Kantner, Balin and Cassidy record together with KBC only to discover they still do not like Balin. Katner and Cassidy carry on without Balin. Similar story with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker. Eric grows tired of Gingers abuse in Cream and the band dissolves. Steve Winwood approaches Clapton and asks, "... will you be in my new band Blind Faith? We'll just jam and start touring in a few weeks." Eric says, "Sure. Who is your drummer?" Steve: "Uhh... Eric. Here's the thing..."Posting this 'cause Matt mentioned Airplane and Starship...loved Airplane and the first 2 or 3 Starship were solid but nothing like that vibe Airplane had. My favorite track from 'Dragonfly.'..first Starship lp though 'Blows Against the Empire' after Airplane broke up is credited to Kantner as Starship.
