Spirit - I Got A Line On You


"Spirit' of 84....I think most of the original members are on stage there along with Jeff Skunk Baxter and and many others ...not sure where that is from....of course that came out originally in 1968 before their 2nd lp.
One of my favorite 'west coast' bands. The first 4 lps are must haves imho and '12 Dreams of Dr Sardonicus' is on many all time best of lists. It is considered to be one off the top psych/prog lps ever made.
It is said that Hendrix showed many guitar techniques to Randy Wolfe/'California' and even gave him that nickname of Randy 'California' (when Randy was about 15 or 16).

No....much prefer the original version to that .....I think in general originals are better than covers....not all the time btw but the Go Go had a certain pop charm.
The Textones version is the original. Kathy Valentine wrote and recorded it with that band before joining the Go-Gos. The Textones version came out in 1980 and the Go-Gos version in 82.
