When I was about 10 yrs old, I heard a song I fell in love with.
It's called " MY NAMES JACK "
Hard to believe it's by the same Band that recorded a lot of tunes that were totally different.
" Blinded by the Light " was around 5 years later.
Manfred Mann were quite a mystery to me.

The Replacements. I do like their version of “Black Diamond” more than Kiss, and The Beatles Let It Be rules supreme.
Favorite song: “Black Diamond”
Least favorite song: “Gary’s Got A *****”

I really still like and also liked back in the early/mid 1970s MANFRED MANN'S EARTH BAND and in fact I have got a small number of their cds from the early/mid 1970s. As for the early MANFRED MANN stuff yeah I remember back in the earlier 1960s hearing songs like 5-4-3-2-1, Doo wah diddy & Pretty Flamingo but I prefer the early/mid 1970s stuff like Joybringer, Davy's on the Road Again and Springsteen's Blinded By the Light

When I was young, songs like “Do Wah Diddy Diddy”, “Blinded By The Light”, “Spirits In The Night”, and “For You” we’re in heavy rotation on the radio. Sometime I came across a compilation album of “British Invasion” music which featured “Pretty Flamingo” and I loved that song.

Another one that Manfred Mann covered was Bob Dylan's The Mighty Quinn that had a lot of radio airplay back in the mid/late 1960s here in England
