A place to to post the upcoming shows on your calendar with expectations and memories.
I have tix in hand for the following:
Sex Pistols at The Agora Ballroom, General Admission (Cleveland, OH) - I had tix for a '78 show but it was cancelled due to the band breaking up. The show in 1996 was near perfect with the original line-up. I had tix for the 2003 show in Cleveland but once again, it was cancelled for what was rumored to be poor ticket sales. Tix bought three times and only one concert to show for it. The current line-up has Frank Carter singing and my expectations are pretty high for this boys night out with my son and son-in-law.
Vanilla Fudge at Kent Stage, 1st row (Kent, OH) - Three of the four original members and a Hammond Organ, what can go wrong? I watched some youtube videos from earlier this year before purchasing. I think their version of "Keep Me Hanging On" is one of the greatest cover songs ever. I feel like this will be fun.
Greg Hawkes (The Cars) at Robins Theatre, 1st row mezzanine (Warren, OH) - A buddy asked if I wanted to go and I said sure. One reason is Kasim Sulton is in the band and I'm a big Rundgren/Utopia fan. My expectations are to hear some songs by The Cars performed by some top notch musicians.
Jonah Koslen at Kent Stage, 1st row (Kent, OH) - Jonah sold out two nights at Kent Stage as he will perform the Michael Stanley Band live album, "Stage Pass", I'll be at the Saturday night show. I've seen Jonah three times as a solo artist since he left MSB in 1979. He is a total professional and I expect a great evening of music.
Cheap Trick at Racino, 6th row (Northfield, OH) - This will be my 6th time seeing Cheap Trick since 1977 and first since 2021. I have 6th row seats in front of Rick Neilson, my expectation is to get a guitar pick!
Shows on my maybe list that I don't have tix for yet (times I've previously seen): Ghalia Volt (1), Alicia Witt, Cheekface, The Supersuckers (4), Bouncing Souls (4).
I welcome comments about my upcoming shows and I look forward to hearing about the upcoming shows for fellow messageboarders.
