I suppose Purple Rain but I'm not a true fan of either lp....but Prince is a very talented musician while Jackson mostly is a singer/songwriter and dancer.

I dare you........ ........I'm just not a fan of either lp and thats not taking anything away from them because both are popular.

They are just different artists and albums. For me, “Beat It” and “Billie Jean” are obviously the most interesting songs on Thriller. I have respect for many of the musicians who contributed to Thriller but in the end it is music that I do not enjoy as much.
The guitars and instrumentation on the songs of Purple Rain are a little more suited to me. I want to listen to most of this album.

And again, the real shame of Thriller is you have Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Quincy Jones, David Foster, most of the musicians from Toto, and no one questions the lyrics, “Don’t waste your time. Because the doggone girl is mine.”
