1982 The naked body of 33-year-old John Belushi was found in a room at the Chateau Marmont Hotel on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. The cause of death was later ruled a drug-related accident. He and Dan Aykroyd had a hit record as The Blues Brothers in 1978 with a remake of the Sam And Dave classic, "Soul Man", while their album "Briefcase Full of Blues" reached #1 on the Billboard 200, going double Platinum.

1965: Them, fronted by Van Morrison, released “Here Comes the Night.” Written by songwriter and producer Bert Berns, the song had been recorded and released earlier with less success by Scottish singer Lulu in November of 1964. Them’s version went #2 in the UK and became their biggest hit in the US, where it reached #24 on the Billboard Hot 100

1969: The Byrds released their seventh studio album, Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde. The title alludes to the album’s juxtaposition of country rock and psychedelic rock. It was the band’s first album to features the line-up of guitarist Clarence White, drummer Gene Parsons, bassist John York, and guitarist Roger McGuinn, and it is the only Byrds album on which McGuinn sings lead vocals on every track.

1971: The posthumous Jimi Hendrix album The Cry of Love was released. It contained new material that Hendrix was working on for his planned fourth studio album, and the final track selection was made by recording engineer Eddie Kramer, drummer Mitch Mitchell, and manager Michael Jeffery.

1982: Genesis released “Man on the Corner,” the fourth and final single from their eleventh studio album, Abacab.
