I have two albums by The Why Store. I fell in love with their 1996 self-titled release. The Why Store is fronted by Chris Shaffer. With Shaffer's grizzly vocals, good lyrics and good song writing I'm surprised this band never took off.
They have a southern rock sound. A good balance of faster and slower songs the album IMO doesn't have a bad track on it. The same goes for "Two Beasts", their next album. I guess they broke up in 2000 and Shaffer started Shaffer street but he now performs as The Why Store again and is the only original member.
Not much on youtube from these guys so if you care to listen...

Broken Glass
Father
Nobody
Surround Me
Fool's Bargain
Lies
Good To Me
So Sad To Leave It
Sunrise
She Likes To Move It
Fade Away
When I'm With You
Lack Of Water
