I have been making cds for a couple of friends as a nice Christmas present and it is so good to hear alot of these old songs. They stand up still with today's music. There is also alot of good music from all the anthology cds. Remember - if you have to buy any Beatle's music etc. don't pay crazy money....look around,it's always cheaper somewhere else. Alot of places bump the price up just because it says "Beatles" on it.

The Beatles are awesome. It's hard to find a favourite song cause there are so many good ones.

Humor with good music :)

One of my favorite beatles songs.

BTW dubbed over the brady kids or brady family instead of the manson family. So it seems the bradys weren't so clean cut after all ;) :oyea:

Hamburg Beatles Documentary, a new project I'm working on

Hey guys,

Just wondering if I could get any opinions/help on a project I'm working on.

It's a documentary about the early stages of The Beatles career, between 1960-62, the time they spent playing 8 hour shifts of Rock n Roll in the clubs of Hamburg, Germany. I noticed there aren't really any feature length documentaries on this period and thought it would be a good idea to go for it.

The way I'm planning on doing this film is by gathering as much info from Beatles fans with experiences and stories relating to this early stage of their career.

If you're a Beatles fan who'd like to see this thing made then you could help me out by following the twitter @BeatlesHamburg and I'll keep you up to date with the project, letting you know how you could get involved.

Cheers, any questions just fire away :)

I'm not a big Beatles fan but like there music. There is or was 2-3 dvds out (in the UK) that were made around the 1990s/2000s of the Beatles early days in Hamburg playing the Star club that feature people such as Astrid Kircherr and Tony Sheridan that deal exclusively with that era of the Beatles 1960-1962.

Paul McCartney turned up today (27/01/13) on a BBC radio 4 programme talking on of all things food and food production which included what he use to eat back in the 1950s and why Linda (McCartney) and himself decided to give up eating meat back in the 1970s.

Apparently Paul and Linda were sitting in there house on the Mull of Kintyre (sorry i probably spelt that wrong?) watching the newborn lambs skipping around in a field next to the house while eating a 'lamb dinner' when they both looked at each other and decided to give up eating meat for good!!.

Heres an update on our ‘Hamburg Beatles’ film project.

We’ve been talking to a variety of people on social media and forums, gathering info and spreading the word for this film. Many of the responses we get indicate that there are already documentaries out there about The Hamburg Beatles, a few of them including ‘The Beatles with Tony Sheridan’, ‘Backbeat’, ‘Destination Hamburg’, and a small (too small) section of ‘Anthology’.

We’ve looked into these documentaries, and can safely say our film will be a different, new approach to this early Beatles era. Previous films have told the story through pictures, interviews/vintage footage and music recordings like any regular documentary, or recreated a modern take on the Hamburg days (Backbeat). However there aren’t many recordings from around this time, and there is no film footage, it seems the best source of info on the Hamburg Beatles is stories from fans/people who worked with the Beatles.

We’ll be tackling this subject from a different angle, through extensive research we will be accurately recreating the Hamburg music scene, the Beatles as we’ve never known them, their music, the vibe of these unknown years. This will lead the audience through the retro Rock n Roll world, only The Beatles could know.

Our next step, which will very much help us progress through this project, is to contact Apple. We’re looking for their support, hopefully allowing us rights/access to pictures, music, archived material, and to generally reinforce our intentions. We also need you fans on board our team (thats right, YOU) to help us with research, contacts, and word-spreading. Any way you could help us out would be greatly appreciated!

We’ll keep you updated with our progress, just follow us at

I'll never forget going to see the movie "Help" when it first came out in theaters back in 1965 when I was seven years old. I went with my older brother who was 13 or 14 at the time. When The Beatles first appeared on the screen, a thunderous roar of female screams filled the theater, making it impossible to hear anything going on in the movie. It was unbelievable. My brother finally got frustrated and yelled "SHUT UP!!!!", with little success. Things slowly but surely quieted down so we could hear the movie, but I'll never in my life forget that thunderous burst of female screams. That was my first real introduction to Beatlemania. A rock and roll memory to cherish...

This is the first Beatles song that I fell in love with back in 1965...
