The Bamboos are an Australian jazz and funk band. Although they have been active since 2000 and have released three albums, they have only become aware to me with the release of their latest album, 4, released March 29th. 2008's Side Stepper recieved some JJJ airplay and contained guest appearances from Megan Washington, Paul Macinnes and TY.

Yeah, I find the music to be a lot more accessible than traditional jazz or funk, plenty of pop elements in the mix IMO

Saw them live last year! I can see why they got an award for best Australian live band!

Their new album has some much rockier songs than in the past such as I Got Burned featuring Australian rock icon Tim Rogers
