Soot and Stars
I AM SOOT!
Soots Musical Digups Vol. #1 (3/8/15)
This will be my series of interesting and entertaining things I find from my scouring of the internet. I find that I find a lot of material that doesn't necessarily warrant a whole thread. Here's hoping that some tidbit here brings a couple individuals here something of value.
The first post will lead you to a channel called Music Video Sins. It's a branch of the more popular Cinema Sins. It simply is a tongue and cheek breakdown of everything wrong with a particular Music Video. The claim is that no video is without sin so it's not meant to be taking seriously and makes for a good laugh. Two weeks ago I saw the Billy Idol-Cradle Of Love video and thought it'd be perfect for this place. I laughed perhaps harder at this than any other as I grew up watching this titillating yet corny video growing up as it was in regular rotation. Here you go:

The next feature is a series by humorously cynical Pop music critic Todd In The Shadows. The One Hit Wonderland series was one that I had a thread dedicated too but I think putting the recent entries in in smaller doses might be a good idea and works for this thread. The breakdown is cool and gives depth to acts you may not have thought had any. It gives a real cool before and after as well as commentary on the hit itself. Great perspective. The recent episode talks about everything you ever wanted to know about the codpiece Funk loving eccentrics of Cameo!

Not all the content will be humorous by any means. There's been a very talented female guitar player on Youtube by the name of Eva Vergilova who's very easy on the eyes but has some very dynamic chops and heartfelt playing. If you haven't seen her cover of Purple Rain I'll post that as well as her newest vid which features "Love In An Elevator". So far it's been just covers but hopefully with enough exposure she'll get the confidence to do some originals.

Most Popular/Most Views (Purple Rain)
Most Recent (Love In A Elevator)
This last one is ridiculous but as creative as you will ever see from writing material and performances concerning fabric and socks. Recently the Slipknot one has garnered the attention but Classic Rock fans may appreciate the Slayer, Metallica and for the Radiohead contingent Creep is covered as well.
Reign In Blood, Creep and Master Of Puppets
