To many of us, Sonny & Cher Bono were a mainstay of our childhood. They had a couple of very popular TV shows, The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour along with The Sonny & Cher Show, and many charted hits like "I Got You Babe" and "The Beat Goes On". This pop rock duo had an outstanding comedy vibe on stage and a very successful music career, selling 80 million records worldwide. Sadly, though, a divorce ended the career of the duo, at which time Cher went on to become a successful solo artist and Sonny went into Politics.
Their first album, which is a collaboration with other artists was released in 1965 and reached #69 on the Billboard 200.

Also in 1965, they released what I consider thier first Debut album:

This album contained the hit "I Got You Babe"
Oh I guess I should mention, Sonny Bono was a fantastic song writer. Quite a few of the songs on the Debut are written by him including both songs in the videos I posted.
