Thought I would mention this band, they were a British instrumental band fusing many styles including progressive, jazz, rock and classical. The best known members were John Williams, Herbie Flowers and Francis Monkman.

Re: Sky

What part of the island were they from Sox?

They sound like the kind of band I like, always a sucker for the experimental groups that step out and take chances.

Any favorite albums to recommend, seeing I never heard of them before?

Re: Sky

I really only got a couple of their tapes years ago but have been meaning to get back to their albums. John Williams was an Australian born musician widely regarded as the best classical guitarist of his generation.

I recall Sky ll being a great listen LG.

Re: Sky

I thought this was gonna be about another band from early 70s called Sky. Doug Feiger (the Knack) played bass and sang with 'em. A trio. I saw 'em on American Bandstand around 1970-'71.

Re: Sky

That is a great version of Bach's masterpiece Sox...I will see if I can find that album for sure.

I was lucky enought to pick up their first four cds at a Camelot records store for a couple of bucks each. Their fourth release, Fourthcoming, was a double cd, too!

Classic Classical Rock or Classical Classic Rock??

These are all excellent and highly recommended...Trans-Siberian Who?
