After reading the article, it looks like the artists didn't mind their songs being covered. What they were upset over was the idea to release each song on youtube as Smith & Myers recorded the acoustic session.

I don't know why some artists hate the idea of their music appearing on youtube, it is no different than hearing them on the radio. :dunno:

Anyway, the Otis Redding cover is sweet! And they did give all credit to Otis.

Well that's a first for me, I've never heard of artists refusing to be covered. I mean heck, CDBaby has an app that gets permission for you to do covers, automatically! Is Youtube still such a contentious issue to some people? Might as well try to stop the tides, hun. Your music is already on Youtube illegally right now, you might as well get paid for some of it ya big idiots.

Tracklist

01. London Calling (The Clash)
02. Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay (Otis Redding)
03. Nothing Else Matters (Metallica)
04. She Talks To Angels (Black Crowes)
05. Blue On Black (Kenny Wayne Shepard)
06. Runaway Train (Soul Asylum)

An eclectic mix, for sure. I'm curious to hear their interpretations, especially Otis, if they're gonna go with more than just the acoustic guitar, or are they gonna stand the way they are right now?

Their version of Skynyrd's Simple Man didn't stray much from the original.

Yes, I heard that. I was curious if they're gonna do any more with these cuts.
